The investment seeks current income consistent with capital preservation. The fund normally invests at least 80% of assets, plus the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes in debt securities. At least 65% of the debt securities must either be U.S. government securities or securities that have received at least an A or equivalent rating. Unrated securities not exceed 25% of the fund's total assets. It may invest up to 25% of total assets in dollar denominated debt obligations of foreign corporations and governments.
