Fund Summary

The investment seeks to maximize current income exempt from federal income tax to the extent consistent with the preservation of capital. The fund normally invests at least 70% of assets in municipal bonds rated investment grade or the unrated equivalent as determined by Dreyfus. For additional yield, it may invest up to 30% of assets in municipal bonds rated below investment grade. Under normal market conditions, the dollar-weighted average maturity of the fund's portfolio is expected to exceed 10 years. View More
