Crude oil and oil companies rallied after OPEC reached an understanding to cut production, the first since 2008. OPEC members agreed to produce 32.5-33 million barrels a day, from 33.2 million in September. Economist Adam Longson wrote: This is not the only OPEC agreement to limit production in this downturn, and thus skepticism on finalization is warranted.
