    Lenovo's attack plan against Dell EMC? A partnership with Nimble Storage

    Executives at Lenovo are lauding a new partnership with Nimble Storage (NMBL) that could allow it to better compete with a former partner: EMC – now known as Dell EMC. The Chinese company, which has what it calls its “dual” headquarters in Morrisville and its server division in Research Triangle Park, just signed a deal with Nimble that allows it to sell Nimble’s all-flash array technology, as well as to use the firm’s predictive analytics capabilities. Lenovo, which bulked its data center business with the 2014 buy of IBM’s RTP-based x86 server division, is creating the ThinkAgile CX series of converged infrastructure products using Nimble technology.
