Cincinnati-based specialty insurer American Financial Group Inc. finally reached a deal to buy the remaining shares of National Interstate Corp. that it doesn’t already own. American Financial (AFG), controlled by the powerful Lindner family, agreed to pay $32 a share, its “best and final offer” that it proposed on July 6 . National Interstate’s board finally agreed to the deal after rejecting a $30 offer from American Financial a week before that .
