Saxonburg-based II-VI Inc. on Monday upped its offer for a company that it announced it would acquire back in January after another company tried to outbid it. II-VI (IIVI) said it would increase its offer to 85 cents a share in cash for Anadigics, a manufacturer that provides wafers to the semiconductor industry. Anadigics and II-VI subsidiary Regulus Acquisition Sub Inc. announced the amended merger agreement Monday, four days after Anadigics’ board had said a competing bid for 85 cents a share was the “superior offer.” It will also extend the offer agreement from Tuesday to March 11 and the closing date from April 14 to May 26.
