While there is a lot of excitement surrounding DXC Technology Co. — the $25 billion combination of Computer Sciences Corp. and Hewlett-Packard Enterprise Co.’s (HPE) services division — it still has a long road ahead of it to become a heavy-hitter in the IT services market. DXC combines two companies that for several years have been attempting to remake themselves in the image of the next-generation technology services industry.

It’s been just a week since Tysons-based DXC Technology Co. — the result of the merger between Computer Sciences Corp. and the IT services spinoff of Hewlett-Packard Enterprise Co. — began trading on the New York Stock Exchange and shares are up 9.3 percent as of Tuesday’s closing. Wall Street has price targets ranging from Stifel's more conservative $76 to BMO Capital Markets’ $85. Wall Street is particularly optimistic about the company’s ability to find cost savings through the deal and become more profitable.
