A crop of closed-end funds that invest in senior corporate loans are no long good buys, Stifel analyst Alexander Reiss said Monday in a new report. "While there are plenty of 'good' signs to point to for senior loan closed-end funds today, the relevant question in assessing their attractiveness should be how much "better" can it get?" he writes. The closed-end funds are also trading with much lower discounts than usual.
These funds can play a role in a portfolio, but investors need to be aware of their risks.
