Experian plc, an information services company, provides data, analytics, and software solutions to businesses and organizations worldwide. The company operates through four segments: Credit Services, Decision Analytics, Marketing Services, and Consumer Services. The Credit Services segment holds, protects, and manages data that help businesses and organizations to lend, as well as prevent fraud. This segment also holds information of people and businesses that have repaid credit in the past and details of their previous applications for credit. The Decision Analytics segment provides data, analytics, and software platforms that help clients for compiling, standardizing, and retrieving data; and help to identify issues for providing solutions. The Marketing Services segment provides a marketing platform that helps its clients to plan, manage, and execute their campaigns; allows them to communicate with their customers through post, email, and social media; and helps them to measure the success of their campaigns. The Consumer Services segment provides online services that help people to monitor credit score, learn and understand about managing credit, and find ways to improve; and identity protection services, which help customers to protect and detect identities, as well as protection against fraud and theft. It serves its customers in financial service, direct-to-consumer, retail, healthcare, automotive, telecom and utility, insurance, media and technology, government and public, and other sectors. The company was formerly known as Experian Group Limited and changed its name to Experian plc in July 2008. Experian plc was founded in 1803 and is headquartered in Dublin, Ireland.
