The decades-old Pepsi bottling plant in South End will be redeveloped to make way for more apartments and retail. Redevelopment of that 5.2-acre site at the corner of South Boulevard and New Bern Street is spearheaded by LMC, a company of national homebuilder Lennar (LEN). LMC also developed Midtown 205, across from the Metropolitan on Kings Drive.

Another real estate developer is taking a run at building a big project at a prominent intersection in Seattle's Central District. It won't be easy, given all the past and present disputes surrounding the corner property at 23rd Avenue and East Union Street. It is a big site and close to large employers, as well as red-hot Capitol Hill, making it a prime redevelopment site.
