US-listed shares of Logitech soared Wednesday after the device maker's quarterly earnings report showed sales grew in some segments.

Following the report, CEO Bracken Darrell was kind enough to talk with me for a few minutes by phone. "The cool things is, we delivered a record quarter for us, and we grew 14%, the strongest in over five years," and not just on the top line, but also "delivering very strong profit" as gross margin expanded, which he noted the company is "investing back into more growth." Is there anything bout the current market for PCs and mobile devices that is helping his company? Likewise, "the overall tablet market is okay," he said, but while "the rest of our business is really attaching to cloud." Cloud computing's spread "is absolutely helping us," with "more and more growth all the time." Any plans to be more ambitious in the company's initiatives, given the positive response of the Street today?
