It states a couple of positive items. Firstly the total amount, but more specifically "$197 million for fixed surveillance technology, including towers, radar and cameras;" Lets hope that this will include LRAD! Now obviously this is a first draft and there is a lot of horse-trading that will follow.

Report: Donald Trump's 2018 Budget Request Seeks $2.6 Billion For Border Infrastructure
While LRAD continues to make important progress on closing its net loss inclusive of Q1 which happened first, the time value of money suggests ongoing hurdles and hardships remain for investors because LRAD is not out of the red yet. It really comes down to who really wants to be LRAD's next reference customer and blow LRAD's horn for it. There is also a judgment call of deciding if LRAD's early access products are really ready for more investor and public scrutiny. No matter how the management spins the red, it sadly remains what it is. There is some light at the end of the tunnel if one looks at trends. It is hard call losing two cents to earn one later a way to a winning year but it remains an important start of what LRAD needs to do to find its footing.
Hmmm, anyone see volume and price movement today?
This company should focus on it's namesake - the Long Range Acoustic Devices that it is known for. The continued investment in mass notification products will be LRADs downfall. LRAD does not understand the MNS market, and when the new CEO joined I had expected the he would recognize this and stop waisting on product and business development for the "MNS line". LRAD is missing the most critical concept of Mass Notification Systems. The System. LRAD wants to make a siren and hang it on someone else system. They have no control systems and lack the resources to develop what is needed for this market. SGA costs have risen without results. This is due to the failure to penetrate the MNS market. This will continue - LRAD does not have the correct products for MNS.
Congratulations to all of us stockholders! While the market continues to make new highs, we see 52 week lows. I have been a holder for decades in this company and have been amazed that this technology has never produced a strong company. I would have thought by now this company would be at least a 100 million dollar revenue company year over year. I can only point to management as to why it flounders so. Every week I read articles that demonstrate the need for this company's products. The latest being the devastating storms in the Southeast and floods in Colombia... Where are the sales! LRAD serves such an important role for mitigating deaths and injury in these situations.

Today's article on CNBC talks about Japan holding civil evacuation drill in case of a North Korean attack. They describe a blaring warning and instruction over a loud speaker. If this was an LRAD system, one would hope the company's marketing department would have been involved to create some nice promotional piece highlighting how the product is effectively being used in public notification situations. If not, maybe you should hire me, because your marketing department is asleep to real world opportunities.
Going long on LRAD anticipates there will be US Navy or Coast Guard needing to hail distant ships or there will be a need for police to communicate with a large number of protestors. Not sure how profitable the other segments of LRAD's portfolio would be because the cost of entering other public sector markets is not a trivial expense?
If I were a sales person for LRAD I would be on the phone reaching out to my contacts in the U.S. Navy and British Navy. See article from Reuters regarding naval incident in Strait of Hormuz with Iranian fast boat. This is exactly what LRAD is designed for. Allow direct communication to signal intentions. They cannot say their radio was down or they did not hear.
U.S. Navy ship changes course after Iran vessel interaction: U.S. official
Multiple fast-attack vessels from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps came close to a U.S. Navy ship in the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday, forcing it to change direction, a U.S. official told Reuters on Monday.
The present LRAD business development team appears optimized for increasing sales to the US Navy. Does anyone know what LRAD is doing to pivot toward strengthening ties with other government agencies, utility and industrial customers?
Wow! that was the most pathetic conference call I have ever been on. No interest from money managers I guess.
Nice upside movement two days before the conference call. Hmmm....
It looks like Brown was not the problem
It is just that the company as a whole stinks.
Congrats to the management team and the board on the new 52 week low

Mass Notification System market, delivering the right message to the right people at the right time is paramount to life safety. Homeland Security and INS looking into expanding programs for border patrol under Trump administration, looks to be great for LRAD systems.
We need some huge news to move this stock, been way too long. Need an 8 figure order from US military and maybe multiple 8 figure orders and not talking 10,000,000, talking 20 - 40MUSD each. Cmon - the Gov't spends a huge amount on defense - sad we can land a big one.
Honestly I'm no expert but the loss for the year doesn't bother me IF this new CEO drives revenue consistenly higher the bottom line will come - it doesn't take a rocket scientist to manage costs, where the real value is in the CEO being super market savvy and driving revenue. Listening to him he sounds like a pretty solid, straight shooter who doesn't make excuses, frankly I'm pretty excited about 2017 and moving forward, hope he delivers. If in 3 years he hasn't each year increased revenue then I'll be disappointed.
And why in hell again is my C name a Cub logo - I'm a cardinal fan. :)
