  • This is BS. The ;problem Mattel faces is a structural: product .line is way outdated and years of innovation attempts have failed. Hasbro is a perfect example of the opposite. Brand equity of Mattel's products is eroding. Someone should buy Mattel, fire the management and optimize and innovate product portfolio
  • Mattel is controlled by fools like Sinclair and an army of gay designers. Cars 3 won't move the needle, and neither will outdated Hot Wheels and Barbie. Meanwhile, they've alienated anyone normal by pushing their world vision of political correctness - "non-gender specific" toys, fat ethnic barbies, gay spokespeople, etc. Not exactly a recipe for success. It's time to flush twice and send Mattel on its way.
  • Does the divy get cut prior to earnings??
  • rumor ea sports working on hot wheels game another game company working on a Barbie sims type of game
  • Worst prediction of 2017. Weiser is off by $15 and $50, respectively. She must be a fat feminist if she thinks Mattel will ever recover:

DA Davidson's Linda Bolton Weiser added her name to the bullish camp as she initiated coverage of the toymaker with a Buy rating and 12-18 month $30 price target and a five-year price target of $50.
  • When MAT cuts the dividend, I think shares could drop to 15. That will be a great buying opportunity and I'll pick up some more shares. MAT makes beautiful toys, and the Cars 3 toys should be a big hit around the world.

  • Fat Barbie sinks Mattel! Turns out it's still true: no one likes fat chicks.

    The new fat acceptance Barbie.

  • Has there been insider buying at MAT recently?
  • Another fantastic quarter for Hasbro. They're just destroying Mattel. Up 5% just today.

For those of you still hoping Mattel will work out: consider that your chairman, Chris Sinclair, has overseen years of shareholder value destruction. Well, not for him - he voted himself CEO for several years (at $10M a year!). Your new CEO has NO toy experience, nor experience as a CEO, for that matter. Not only are Mattel's brands irrelevant, but the company is controlled by militantly politically-correct left-wing homosexuals who may not appeal to most Americans. Take a look a Moschino Barbie and ask yourself if you want to invest in that.

  • MAT is very oversold. A bounce is coming
  • I just had a look. Technicals may be starting to stabilize. Not saying it will not test 20 but if it does I will enter as it is paying 6+% dividend and the Cars franchise will be a boost to revenue. So I kind of hope that it does hit 20 but today it flattened out in the last minutes here. Let's watch. Could be a nice trade or even a buy and hold for long term. very nice dividend and a pot full of free levered cash flow. Maybe a buy back in the future or an activist shareholder would help out.
  • Wow, another shockingly bad quarterly report. Question for Chris Sinclair: you're not gay and you were born before political correctness. So what's your obsession with gay/gender-neutral toys? How about some military stuff for boys, and some dolls for girls that aren't fat, diabetic, black and wearing a burka? Hopefully Hasbro will straighten you out when they acquire you next year - at $5/share.
  • This will be the last dividend at this rate, they will cut the dividend in half going forward.
Pure negligence by the leadership team this company
  • Any Americans who might still be interested in Hot Wheels or Barbie are disgusted by fat Barbie, burka Barbie, illegal Mexican Barbie, etc. Congratulations to Mattel's left-wing gay toy designers for putting the final nails in its coffin.
  • Not much hope for this company. Mattel will not be around very much longer if they don't start dealing in reality.
  • If you can believe the stats on Yahoo, Mattel's payout ratio is at 165%. I can't see them maintaining this dividend.
  • Yes, it looks like a bounce is happening..
