I have this stock on my watchlist since 1,5 years and Im thinking about going long. I thought I missed the boat already last year, but it looks like the stock is back to where it was before. I think agricultural materials are really important for the future. However, I'm doubting given the market circumstances . Especially if Mosaic is able to recover and compete against it's competitors abroad? What do you guys think about the oversupply from "developing" countries. Is Mosaic able to overcome these struggles?
The Trump trade, i.e. commodities, is dead until Trump proves he did not collude with Russia. It is really that simple. Wall street is doubting the tax cuts and the infrastructure bills. This could all fall apart if allegations are true. If it is true then Trump undercut our constitution, democracy and the very things that make us different than the rest of the world. Remember the head of the CIA and FBI are not political hacks, even though some of you want to see it that way. Serious stuff is being talked about. Wall street is listening and watching.
Today it is a reaction to DE's numbers, shorts are covering but I am not sure that this is the start of the climb.
This low volume manipulation to the sell side by Credit Suisse, attempting to keep their 7 million share short in the money as well as their 23.50 Puts In the money is getting old. Look at all the DMCalls they are buying to reset regSHO. Seriously Buying calls at a buck? I'm personally over half of the days buy side volume and it's downs 1/4. I may step up like I did yesterday and turn on the buy program again, and again, and again....
22.75 wow. Crazy.
I want to mark this day 5/5/2017 to see if I guessed right by calling it an entry point.
Wondering if this stock will go lower than the lows posted in 2016. This trough of the cycle is getting pushed longer and longer, like no end in sight. They are talking now about 2018 for the uptrend of the cycle to start.
"Our results do not yet reflect improving potash and phosphate market conditions we anticipate to benefit from for the remainder of the year," said Joc O'Rourke, President and Chief Executive Officer. "This quarter we experienced several operational challenges which are now largely behind us. Our constructive outlook hasn't changed and we expect to see stronger earnings in the remainder of 2017."
Low prices will bring this stock down again, can't wait to see low 20's.
are there any other domestic suppliers of phosphate, or does most of get imported from Gibraltar and china?
Why not do a histogram on the number of people starving vs the stockpile of phosphate. They say this is a commodity, but what they neglect to consider is its one of the most important. Can you stave off hunger with the majority of them and for the rest can they feed the masses without it? No bar graphs here just a verbal kick in the #$%$.

fishy..as in sharks. There was an announcement of higher volumes of potash sales which triggered the buying which woke up the sharks who went on their usual feeding frenzy. Nobody is looking to buy this company if that is what you and others are hoping for.
Why is this down >2% today?? POT up slightly...
What is going on today???????????????????.....Huge volume, UP then DOWN !!!....something is very fishing!!!!
Looks like you got your 10%
As of February 17, 2017 MOS is still on an upward trajectory. I believe that MOS is overpriced and needs to come down 10% to fair value.
insider ownership is 5.40% – so we could see some upside on MOS but perhaps a short-term pull back is more likely before the next rally. google awesomeSTO-CKS - they offer pretty good trade alerrts. you dont have to trade their tickers but it definetly helps you recognize possible patterns for stocks you're trading.
India depleted to "bare shelves", China losing money on fertilizer. The competition Mosaic has faced has been overwhelming so I'd say it wasn't bad at all. They've actually come through two very difficult years in a position to do more with less money. It's just taking more time for a turnaround, I'm buying more MOS stock. Buying Vale was good, and cutting the dividend was prudent.
