  • local epic passes include 10 days at whistler, also only $10 more than last year. Attractive pricing. Sierra resorts mobbed again this past weekend by fair weather crowd. Bumper crop revenue likely.
  • just wondering will Stowe buy Smugs buy some land and offer parking for Stowe install some high speed quads or 6 packs and relieve the traffic on the access road
  • Emails just went out to all Epic pass holders on the Auto-Renew program, automatically adding a $25 pass insurance. The only way to remove this is to call Vail Resorts. Pass Holders Very upset regarding this. But how many will over look this new fee and pay it "automatically" adding to $MTNs bottom line? More sneaky Genuis by Vail resorts?
  • look, I told you not to follow me. BTW, they just announced pass pricing. Only $10 over last year gives unrestricted access to Whistler. Targeting Seattle, Portland, and Vancouver markets, all untapped from multi resort passes. Well, not entirely, Mt Hood partners with Steamboat, for example, but it ain't Vail or Whistler. Could be good, if weather cooperates next season.
  • PS. Very impt qtr coming up, i.e. early pass sales, which is huge chunk of revenue. Stay tuned.
  • Well summer is just around the corner and I hope next winter has as much snow as this record year.
  • Now don't everyone go sell at once just because I did. I'm just taking a personal breather. I'll be back.
  • But you just gotta love the Vegas dancers, aka Heavenly Angels, workin it at Tamarack Lodge. Now that's what I call family entertainment!!! Let's see summa that in Utah. BTW, I sold at 182.98 in advance of earnings.
  • Vails Epic Burger (frozen patty) Fries and 20 oz soda is $28 on the mountain in Park city.
20oz Soda or cup of Hot Chocolate out of a gas station vending/dispenser machine Over $5!
I figured out how Vail makes so much $$
  • Wierd action the last few days, with morning lows ending flat to positive. I did add to my position and, based on obvious customer increases at its core resorts, expect another dividend increase for the next quarter.
  • PS, 10 day climate outlooks showing yet more, negative temperature anomalies, below freezing, with far above normal precipitation - in the form of snow - for the Sierra, Colorado Rockies, and coastal BC. I will be a buyer Monday, how about you?
  • Ho Hum, another naysayer who misinforms on the internet. Folks, Heavenly is my home mountain, and as far as management goes, it ain't perfect, but a solid 8 out of 10. Understaffing is merely a symptom of the colossal visitor volume and profit MTN is reaping throughout its Sierra holdings this year. As for parking lot sanding and plowing, dl j is off the mark. It's normal prep over my 20+ days this year. Accumulate more MTN on ANY weakness.
  • What the heck is happening at Heavenly this year? Place seems like a disaster, management-wise. Nowhere near enough staff, incredibly bad social media presence, terrible customer service. They cannot get the lots plowed and sanded, cannot dig out lifts. and $6 bucks for a bottle of water? They seem to be neglecting the details that make clients return...
  • Superior snow and visitation everywhere this week.
  • Now? I'm skiing today, no time to evaluate. Expect heavy action.

  • Really nice-looking conditions, snow followed by blue bird skies, and normal temperatures, ahead of key President's Day week throughout many MTNs holdings - Park City and Sierra - winter in BC, and clear and normal-below normal in the Rockies. All is good.
