Benzyl benzoate, anthracenedione, dimethylanthracene, benzaldehyde, (phenylmethylene)-octanol, and C.I. disperse orange 30 are the chemicals that more than 70,000 American Airlines employees now know are in new uniforms the world's largest airline began rolling out last month. AA said the chemicals are commonly found in cosmetics and personal care products. The revelations about chemicals in new uniforms supplied by Twin Hill, a unit of Men's Wearhouse, came in a memo to employees from AA management yesterday as the Chicago Business Journal reported the number of American Airlines (AAL) flight attendants with symptomatic reactions to new uniforms had climbed to at least 1,300.
