    [$$] Cocoa Gets Ready to Dip

    La Niña is likely to result in increased production of cocoa—the key ingredient in chocolate—across the globe, putting pressure on prices that have run up on an anticipated deficit this season. La Niña is characterized by unusually cold ocean temperatures in the equatorial Pacific Ocean, unlike the generally stronger El Niño weather phenomenon, during which temperatures rise. The National Weather Service expects La Niña to develop during the Northern Hemisphere summer this year, with about a 75% chance of occurring during the fall and winter months into 2017.
