    Stock exchange warnings pile up at Odyssey, other companies with Tampa ties

    One of Tampa Bay’s smallest companies continues to be plagued by stock market woes. Odyssey Marine Exploration Inc. (OMEX), a Tampa-based deep sea exploration firm, has gotten its second warning letter from the stock exchange in five months, the company said in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. This warning, like the one Odyssey received in December, focuses on the company’s market value, which is lower than the minimum market value NASDAQ requires.

    Odyssey sells shipwreck assets for $21M

    Deep-ocean explorer Odyssey Marine Exploration Inc. announced Wednesday it has sold intangible and tangible assets related to its shipwreck business for $21 million. California-based Monaco Financial LLC and affiliated entities purchased the assets, according to a statement. Odyssey will retain a 21.25 percent interest in the future net proceeds from shipwreck projects as part of the deal, and holds an exclusive contract to provide shipwreck search and recovery services, according to the statement.
