Panasonic Corporation, together with its subsidiaries, develops, produces, sells, and services electrical and electronic products under the Panasonic brand name worldwide. It operates through five segments: Appliances, Eco Solutions, AVC Networks, Automotive and Industrial Systems, and Others. The Appliances segment offers air conditioners, TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, personal care products, microwave ovens, home audio equipment, video equipment, vacuum cleaners, rice cookers, bicycles, show cases, compressors, and fuel cells. The Eco Solutions segment provides lighting fixtures, lamps, wiring devices, solar photovoltaic systems, water related products, interior furnishing materials, ventilation and air conditioning equipment, air purifiers, and nursing care related products. The AVC Networks segment offers aircraft in-flight entertainment systems, PCs and tablets, projectors, digital cameras, surveillance cameras, infrastructure systems equipment, fixed-phones, and mobile phones. The Automotive and Industrial Systems segment provides car-use-multimedia-related equipment, electrical components, lithium ion and automotive batteries, dry batteries, electronic components, automation controls, semiconductors, electronic materials, LCD panels, electronic component-mounting machines, electric motors, and welding equipment. The Others segment engages in detached housing, apartment housing rental, land and building sale, home remodeling, and raw materials businesses. The company offers its products to business and industrial customers, as well as to consumers; and housing businesses. Panasonic Corporation has a collaboration agreement with The Berliner Philharmoniker to develop audio-visual technologies for 4K/HDR video and Hi-Resolution audio platforms. The company was formerly known as Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. and changed its name to Panasonic Corporation in 2008. Panasonic Corporation was founded in 1918 and is headquartered in Kadoma, Japan.
