San Antonio could get an influx of 500 jobs from a Los Angeles-area technology company in the coming months. Hulu LLC, a television show and movie streaming company, is gearing up for a new live television on-demand service and it wants to open a new office for the transition. The live television service is a move to compete with AT&T’s DirectTVNow service and Sling TV, a live television company owned by Dish Network Corp. Hulu wants to add 24 hour a day customer service as part of the new service.

Rackspace Hosting Inc. got the green light to start selling managed cloud service support for enterprise customers of Google's cloud engine, the company announced today. The San Antonio area company has been selling its Fanatical Support to businesses with Amazon Web Services since October 2015 and to enterprise customers of Microsoft's Azure cloud infrastructure since July 2015. Now, the subsidiary of Alphabet Inc. is working on a new managed services offering slated to launch in 2017 in conjunction with Rackspace.

Just weeks before the new owners of Rackspace Hosting Inc. are expected to finish cutting up to $120 million from the cloud hosting company's budget, New York private equity firm Apollo Global Management LLC appointed a new board of directors at the San Antonio-area company. Benjamin has more than two decades of experience in investment banking and serves as Cyrus Capital Partners' senior advisor and also a consultant for Apollo Global Management.
