  • Even if you started buying when SAN was above $9 and continued buying and reinvesting dividend, you should be fine by now. As it goes higher your profit accelerates. This is a great long term hold.
  • Sell off partly due to news article about the plethora of sub-prime auto loans that SAN has on it's books. The default rate on loans has doubled and used car prices are going down so bank reaps even less profit on sales of reposessed cars. Could get worse.
  • On the other hand...Banco Popular said it had received interest from several rivals about a potential merger with the lossmaking lender, raising the prospect for further consolidation in Spain's banking system.
  • Problems in Brazil again. But hey what's new.

  • Why "O" Why is this stock going down ?. They just settled a court case with Portugal that gives them 1.7 B. This happened this week ???????
  • so CRAMER was recommending SAN stock last night as a good way to play Europe, and stated that Spain was rebounding more quickly than the rest of Europe, but he couched the bet saying also to buy some euro stock EFT products.. I still think the JAN 2019 7 Call is a good deal. ( yes I am long SAN). Banco Popular got hammered a few days ago, so be careful in the bank stocks for Spain. IBEX has done well. I have heard that BAIN is also in country doing some venture work and buying some companies . any confirmation of some of those transactions?
  • This is from Zack's April 4: "Investors in shares of Banco Santander Brasil SA BSBR need to pay close attention to the stock based on moves in the options market lately. That is because the Call which expires on Apr 21, 2017 for the $7.50 strike price had some of the highest implied volatility of all equity options today."
    Anyone who can interpret this?
  • The upside potential for SAN just got a whole lot more interesting. have you guys heard of a.awesomestocks. i started receiving their allerts and so far i am happy.
