    Charlotte firm huddles up for national college football campaign

    At least one foolproof prediction for the upcoming college football season can be made right now: Charlotte marketing firm Signature Sports Group is heading to the College Football Playoff national championship game in January. The company is behind a promotional and advertising campaign launched this week for Eckrich, a line of smoked sausage and deli meats owned by Smithfield. Eckrich this season becomes an official sponsor of the College Football Playoff.

    Eckrich expanding ties to college football at the championship level

    Eckrich, a Lisle, Illinois-based maker of smoked sausages and deli meats, said today it is deepening the company's marketing ties to college football, specifically the hugely-popular championship playoffs at season's end. Eckrich has inked a deal to become the official smoked sausage and deli meat sponsor of the 2017 College Football Playoff. As part of the deal, Eckrich is launching a Road to the National Championship sweepstakes, giving 14 fans of the game a chance to throw and win $1 million at some of the most prominent college football games during the upcoming football season.
