The entrepreneur, who passed away Friday at the age of 95, launched the family-run business in 1961 with his wife, Lillian. The husband-and-wife pair notably developed an all-American aesthetic by incorporating the leather used in baseball gloves into various fashion accessories.

Former Sara Lee CEO Brenda Barnes, who became one of the highest-ranking women in corporate America, passed away Tuesday, her family confirmed. The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday that Barnes, who lived in Naperville, Illinois, suffered a stroke over the weekend. The River Grove, Illinois native sparked public debate over the balance between family life and career advancement when, in 1997, she left her job as head of North American beverage operations for PepsiCo Inc. in order to spend more time with her three children, who were ages 7, 8 and 10 at the time.
