  • Getting ready for the bounce back up. Technical 78% bullish at foxchart.
  • Oh come on now, you can go to almost any Staples and they share the parking lot with some big store like Target and Target opens at 7:00 am and will sell many things Staples sells but Staples doesn't open till 10:00 am. It's the incredibly ignorant management that is wrecking Staples, nothing else, they sure don't pay their employees well.
  • the money to be made here is not with current shareholders but with the new owner going private. management and board will be paid nicely to short sheet the current shareholders. so be happy with your $11 and hope it gets announced soon.
  • Anybody else noticed that their "easy rebate" program isn't mailing rebates?
  • Huge miss on revenues.
This company is going to have to cut the dividend imo.
should be hitting new lows soon.
  • Won't be long and ODP will have a higher stock price that Staples.
  • Elaine Bruzios is ugly
  • This company should just go bankrupt and be done with it. Office Depot is running better at this time and that is saying something.
  • Elaine Bruzios is ugly.
  • 3-4 weeks later and no buyer announced ?
  • Is it good time to buy now
  • Elaine Bruzios is ugly.
  • I am reading they are planning to buy Staples for about $11 a share as they value the company at about 7 billion dollars. Not sure who is looking to buy them but i stand by my statement that $11 a share is robbery and share holders should revolt at such an offer. Anyone with any other thoughts or speculation on offer price we are very interested...
  • Good to hear others writing that this buyout plan stinks. No way is this company only worth 11 bucks a share. It never should have dropped this low and it is a strategy to steal it. They have spent decades establishing relationships and distribution networks that are #1 in the sector and paid a consistent dividend and gets hammered because a merger failed? Amazon is taking Staples business? Hard to take contract business as that is kind of written out in the contract. This whole this is criminal and they better get the lawyers warmed up.
  • personally, I think here are some potential buyers for SPLS.
First is, I agree AMZN. Amazon should buy Staples, and incorporates it into its network.
Second is, BABA, a China based like Amazon. It can use Staples as its US base to expand its business in USA.
Last is Wall Street. Wall Street guys can buy Staples at current price and pull it up to above $20 then sell it to Office Depot or Office Max
  • Pathetic that they are going to sell this thing for 11 bucks a share. That is robbery as this is a very stable stock with CONTRACT business. Schools, government agencies and business LOCKED in to buying from stable billions of dollars of merchandise and somebody is going to buy it out and take it private? One of the largest internet sales companies that could shutter ALL of it's stores and make money. Something smells very fishy. I want my 15 bucks a share!!!
  • I wonder who wants to buy them out ?
  • immanent news will be out on this weekend more $10 per shares, I think
  • I'm very surprised SPLS is not holding above $10 today. Purchased a few more shares near the low. In my opinion, once details of the buyout offer are released PPS will jump to over $11. If Amazon is part of the deal, $12+ or maybe otter will get his $15 wish.
  • Not an ad or anything but PLUG is jumping today on Amazon news
