SolarWinds Worldwide LLC has acquired LogicNow Ltd., a Scottish company that develops remote monitoring and management software for service providers. Austin-based SolarWinds announced that it was the largest acquisition in company history but financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, according to a Wednesday statement. LogicNow, which was founded in 2004 as HoundDog Technology Ltd., was acquired by North Carolina-based GFI Software Inc. in 2009 for an undisclosed amount.

SolarWinds Inc. has completed its acquisition by Silver Lake Partners and Thoma Bravo LLC, resulting in a new slate of directors for the Austin-based software developer. The $4.5 sale of SolarWinds was finalized Feb. 5, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission. Silver Lake, a California-based private equity firm, and Thoma Bravo, a Chicago private equity firm that is one of the country's largest tech investors, spent approximately $2.5 billion in cash on the deal, plus $ 2 billion in debt financing from Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and other lenders.
