Treasury bonds fell sharply -- especially at the long end -- on Thursday. U.S. yields were following rates in Europe and Japan higher after comments from the Bank of Japan and a stronger than expected gross domestic produce report in the U.K. The yield on the benchmark 10-year note climbed to 1.86%, a 7 point climb from Wednesday's close and the highest point since late May.The 30-year bond yield touched 2.63% in late morning, according to Tradeweb, also its highest point in nearly five months. Thomas Byrne of Wealth Strategies and Management called the move higher an "overshoot." He is suggesting clients "cautiously add duration" and be wary of getting "whipsawed." But Ian Lyngen of BMO Capital Markets believe the move may have legs.
