Turkey Market Analysts & Media Silenced In Post-Coup Purge

Turkey depends on foreign investment, and the country's market regulator is reportedly targeting domestic market analysts who could scare away investors, the FT reports. After the July 15 coup attempt, two U.S. ratings agencies, Fitch Ratings and S&P Global lowered their Turkey credit ratings, and Moody's Investors Service is set to review its Turkey debt outlook. The iShares MSCI Turkey exchange-traded fund (TUR) rose more than 7% this week.  Akbank (AKBTY) rose 5.6% and Turkiye Garanti Bankasi (TKGBY) rose more than 3%.
