    Remember concerns that the U.K.'s voluntary exit from the European Union would scorch Britain's economy and global financial markets? Neither does the VIX! The CBOE Volatility Index (VIX) this week is under 12 for the first time, falling 1.92% in recent trading to 11.74. Alas, volatility traders themselves will tell you, "the VIX doesn't have any predictive power regarding the direction of the stock market." At best,the VIX is a "confirming or coincident indicator," meaning that the VIX is going to be low when the stock market is at a record, as it is now.
