U.S. Bancorp CEO Richard Davis says his bank's business points to the continued slow recovery of the U.S. economy rather than a recession. Davis made the remarks ahead of the Federal Reserve Board's meeting later this month to determine whether to increase the federal funds rate (the amount banks charge each other for overnight loans). Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen said last month that the odds of a recession this year are “quite low," but she hasn't indicated if or when the Fed will increase rates again .
