    Valspar, Sherwin-Williams merger will take longer than planned

    The acquisition of Valspar Corp. by Sherwin-Williams Co., originally scheduled to wrap up this month, has been pushed back until June, the companies said Tuesday, explaining that more time was needed to satisfy regulators. The delay is apparently linked to efforts by the companies to divest an undisclosed business to win approval from the Federal Trade Commission. Sherwin-Williams had expected those deals to be completed by April, but it no longer does.
