BioTelemetry Inc. has entered into a definitive agreement to buy VirtualScopics Inc. for $15.5 million in a deal involving two publicly traded medical technology companies. Under the terms of the agreement, BioTelemetry (BEAT) of Malvern, Pa., will offer $4.05 per share to holders of ViralScopics common stock, $336.3 per share for holder's of the Rochester, N.Y., company's series A and B convertible stock and $920 per share for holders of its series C-1 convertible stock. BioTelemetry, which formerly operated as CardioNet, is a wireless medical technology company.
