Rosenstein's Jana Partners: Walgreens Stake Gets Slashed 60%; Trims ConAgra; Adds AutoNation

Activist investor Jana Partners slashed its position in Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA) by almost 60% during the second quarter and sold off its entire stake in Pfizer (PFE), but added AutoNation (AN) to its portfolio. According to a 13F filing with the SEC released today, the fund headed by Barry Rosenstein held almost 4.58 million shares of Walgreens worth $381.3 million as of June 30, down from the nearly 10.58 million shares it owned three months earlier. Walgreens wants your unused prescriptions

Walgreens now wants you to drop off your unused prescriptions at safe places in Illinois. The Deerfield company (WBA) said it will now accept "unwanted, unused or expired prescriptions, including controlled substances, and over-the-counter medications at no cost" at kiosks in Illinois. The company said it's installed 45 drug take-back kiosks in Illinois so far, to go along with the 300 it's already opened around the country.
