    Former Citizens CEO cites health issues in retirement announcement

    Less than a month after he stepped down as CEO of Citizens Inc., Rick Riley has retired from the publicly traded Austin insurance company. Riley — who had taken over the top job at the company in mid-2015 from his father Harold Riley , founder of Citizens (CIA) — retired and resigned from the board effective June 24, citing health issues, according to a Tuesday regulatory filing. Rick Riley relinquished his office in the C-suite earlier this month , when President Kay Osbourn was named interim CEO.
