As North Korea increased its ballistic missile test firings in April and May, the U.S. Missile Defense Agency awarded Boeing a $58.6 million contract to demonstrate a new generation of technology to intercept and destroy multiple missiles should they be fired simultaneously at United States. Boeing said the government gave it a 35-month contract to further its work on what the missile defense agency calls Multi-Object Kill Vehicle (MOKV) technology. The U.S. Department of Defense awarded the contract May 12, Chicago-based Boeing (BA) said in a news release.
The Pentagon said it has been in touch with producers of a "Top Gun" sequel and analysts speculate that Boeing's Super Hornet will likely be the star.
