There are other comprehensive seed treatments already on the market, but all contain chemicals, Marrone and Groundwork BioAg said in a news release Tuesday. “We believe that this project has the potential for high impact in the seed treatment market in general across a broad range of crops, and, in particular, can meet an unaddressed need for the rapidly growing organic grain segment,” Marrone Bio founder and CEO Pam Marrone said in the news release. Groundwork BioAg, based in Moshav Mazor, Israel, has developed crop treatments using beneficial fungi that help plants obtain nutrients from soil.
