Sleep Train, which entered the Hawaii market with the purchase of America’s Mattress in 2014 and was acquired by Mattress Firm five months later, will rename all 318 stores to Mattress Firm. California-based Sleep Train will be part of Mattress Firm’s 3,500 franchised stores across the United States by spring, and claims it will provide a larger selection of value mattresses. “Mattress Firm took a step back and looked at both companies and the best way to move forward, and that led to the decision to rebrand under one name,” Shauna Nuckles, a public relations person for both companies, told Pacific Business News, adding that Mattress Firm’s status as a national company allows it to buy in larger quantities, which will pass on to the stores in Hawaii.
