There's no better computer than a Mac! We love them!
I nwo havea new PC withVista... The thing is a nightmare ... My old Mac G4 Dual 450 runs circles around it ... One reason is that it works ! I can depend on it ! No viruses, no crashs .. It's wonderful ! My next computer will NOT be a PC ....
I've owned many PCs over the last 23 years, I'm presently using a new laptop with Vista - and agree it's an absolute nightmare. I will NEVER buy another PC, I'm going to buy an Apple for my son when he heads off to college next year - and I've loaded up my IRA with Apple stock.
Apple charges too much for what you get. DON'T get a frigin Mac. More costly support, EVERYTHING mac is WAY too expensive. . .
After watching your commentary, I can only say that some PC believers REALLY find it hard to simply admit that Macs have a passionate following simply BECAUSE THEY WORK. Continue to struggle with your Vista for a couple more months, then just use a Mac for a week or two... you'll see why we have passion. Finally, one last falsehood that needs correcting- Macs are NOT expensive. Simply compare a PC, equipped the way you would actually use it, to a Mac, and you'll see that they are quite similarly priced. disclaimer- I've used Macs exclusively since 1984, and wait with great anticipation for the 3G iPhone :)
You do not need virtualization to use MS Office. An Apple version of MS Office is available and runs native on Mac OS X Operating Systems.
I’d rather be an idiot with a Mac than a M$oft LEMMING with a PC. Besides, Intel Macs can run OS 10.5 and Vista (i.e. MacOS 10.0) applications at the same time. The PC can’t run Mac applications at all. So, which computer is the most useful now? If you ask me, that makes the PC only users the idiots!!
I'm an IT guy... for many years. Some things need Windows, some don't. I know a CEO who uses a Mac and he loves it. My best story is about my daughter. She had a decent XP notebook last summer when she graduated high school. She was going to attend Syracuse doing a pre-med program and wanted a new Macbook. Told her if she wanted to spend the graduation money on it, it was her choice, but I didn't see where she needed one. The coolness factor was part of it, I'm sure. She bought the Mac last June. I loaded Open Office on it and it has been 10 months of heavy use with ZERO problems. I have NEVER seen that with a teenager and a Windows PC. Can I say the same about Vista? Definitely not.
You think PCs are the only computers in the world and Windows the only OS... UNTIL YOU TRY AN APPLE MAC!!
I have been using Mac since OS X is out. It just worked, no matter how many time you upgrade the OS and applications, the system is stable. The software does not force you to upgrade your hardware every year. The CIO is the one should be replace if he/she does not understand the time it saves the users and the increase in productivity.
With so many applications being browser-based and the office suite running on either platform, a huge portion of the market probably has little reason to choose one over the other except on the basis of cost ... and I'll include in the cost component the cost of things not working. So, now, with that said, a MAC will cost you 25% more than a comparable PC. If you put reliable virus protection software on the PC and run Windows XP and not Vista (you don't need Vista), then that PC is going to be quite reliable. If something breaks, physically, it will be cheaper, on average, to fix the PC than the MAC. Bottom line, the PC is a better choice. Now, if you run specialized software and it ties you to a platform because the develop does publish it in both MAC and PC versions, then you're pretty much guaranteed that the verison available will be for the PC. MAC users love their MACs. Well, that's great. If you wish to spend the extra money, then go right ahead. Why do PCs fail? It's because it's a considerably more open platform and so users install all manner of junk on PCs - whether on purpose or by chance - and are their own worst enemy. Why aren't there viruses for MAC? For the same reason there aren't for Sun or HPUX or Linux or any other O/S that is deployed so thinly - why bother writing viruses for 10% of the market? Treat a PC like a piece of business equipment and it will perform just fine. Screw around with it and you'll get the same in return.
Sarah is the worst interviewer ever. She doesn't ask questions, but makes gross generalizations that are based on not much more than superficial research. And she can't speak without using fillers: "right", "like", "uh" and laughing. Don't say "right" when the guest contradicts with what you said. For example, you say that Apple doesn't have a corporate sales force. He says they do. You say "right". So who's right? Yahoo Finance should get a real reporter. Count how many "rights" you say in just this 3 minute clip and it is very apparent that you've never even completed a speech class or watched your lame videos for substance rather than considering how you look.
To borrow from James Carville, IT'S THE USER, STUPID! I'm a long-time PC user, but honestly, Vista was the last straw. I'm all done. This is where I get off. The computer is a tool. I would never put up with a toaster that acted like my PC. Next computer is a Mac for sure.
The guy being interviewed forgot to mention that Mac is the IT guy's biggest nightmare because Macs need so much less day-to-day maintenance than PCs. Remember the Maytag Repairman ads? Those ads would have good good for Macs too.

I am a CIO and Mac's will never make it into my company other than for Graphics design. An unequal amount of time from my team is dedicated to Mac support because they don't work with Enterprise systems very well and the people that like macs are annoying and require more time because they are big babies.
