The mania is building, as Apple fans prepare for big news today. Steve Jobs is expected to unveil a new 3G iPhone at the company's Developers Conference in San Francisco. We spoke to gadget lovers on the streets of Manhattan and did a comparison of what the iPhone is likely to offer versus its top competitors.
One of the burning questions: will the new 3G phone really cost as little as $200?
the 3 g I phone will be the new standard ! the others are just cell phones .
I will buy one but not if its over 200. Lets hope its less! :)
The Japanese have had this for about 7 yrs, Sheesh.
Well, there will be three new phones out, in less than two months. The iPhone, Instinct (SPRINT= Touch screen EV) and the TREO 800w (SPRINT=Windows 6.1, WiFi, Bluetooth, EV, touch screen). Let the price wars begin!!
I-phone popularity will explode and with it the mac sales. I wonder how Apple will keep up with the huge demand. Afterall, their marketshare is still pretty small worldwide.
Iphone, what Iphone? It sucks. they need me make it much better , specially the speaker, it has no sound at all, can not even hear it 3 feets away. hope apple fix it in thier new model. I put my old one in cold storage.
3G won't do much for the iPhone. The phone on 16mb comcast WIFI is very slooooowwwww. They need to upgrade the processor power and thoughput. Otherwise 3G won't do a thing.
apple is a f#$@ ripoff. started out with 500, 600 ones. then changed it to 400, 500. talk about customers getting piss off at the time, wait til they actually put it out there for 200. feel sorry for those that already paid an arm and a leg for it. what are they gonna do now with their so very cool soon to be obsolete iphone.
Iphone still isn't there unless... 1. Increase size and improve touch-screen keyboard 2. Able to run Firefox, better than Safari 3. Able to run Java, especially Java applets 4 Increase screen size to 5 inches for better viewing and easier keyboard functionality.
Two more things that would make Iphone stand out from the crowd... 1. Add a lens doppler like the older videocams where you don't have to wear your glasses 2. Add a connection on the side for a keyboard, such as a rollup or infrared keyboard. 3. Send me my cut when these things are added.

wait till the price less hundred,i need gas first.......
Anyone who thinks it is going to be $200 is an idiot. The regular iphone is still over $300. The 3G is probably going to be $399 or $499. Also, it is the best phone I have ever had. However, it is not for everyone. If you just want a phone then get a regular phone. However, if you are on the go and need access to email, web, messaging, and phone, then it is the best phone available. 3G will just make it even better. It is light years ahead of the others, and with the new apps coming, it is going to out shine any other smart phone. P.S. - But it is not better than sex...that is just crazy talk!!!!
I am struggling on the decision - buying a IPhone or Wii, I have been waiting to buy Wii at regular price at $250, I don't have budget to buy both. Which one should I buy??? I guess I will choose Wii first
If you have a phone right now, then get the wii. If you really need and will use the iphone, then get it. It is a good product and very useful, but the wii is really fun. Tough decision!!!
Until Joe Shmo and NOT Apple can remove and install a new battery, 4get about it!
I really don't care it's just another phone for chrissake

iphone G3, yah I'm all over it. And what kind of geek prefers an iphone over sex? A computer geek, of course.
