Is Steve Jobs sick again?
It's not pleasant or even polite to ask, and we certainly hope the answer is no. But the question is being asked in the aftermath of Apple's Developers Conference, where Jobs looked particularly thin -- and arguably gaunt.
In response to inquiries, Apple says Jobs is recovering from a "common bug," The Wall Street Journal reports.
Obviously this is a sensitive issue. But given the history -- Jobs had surgery in 2004 for a rare form of pancreatic cancer (something Apple didn't disclose until after the fact) -- and his importance to the company, his health is a legitimate concern for Apple shareholders.
I'm a shareholder and I asked about the succession plan at the last meeting. I got the "there's plenty of smart people here" answer and I'm sure there are. But they are none of them Steve Jobs.

You guys shouldn't report on this rumor. Apple said is was a common bug. As Jim Goldman point out: "Apple spokeswoman Katie Cotton, vice president of worldwide communications, said Jobs had a common ailment. She also knows that if the statement she's sharing isn't true, she risks going to jail." ou guys want to see how a REAL journalist handles this? Read here: http://www.cnbc.com/id/25096807
Well the two boys had their "Nancy Pants" on today and were in need of something other than finance to chat about today.
The guy is obviously very very sick. So far there is no cure for the virus.
He traveled a lot across the whole world recently (jet lag), and I don't think he took any vacation since that. Probably he works for 10-12 hours a day, so maybe that's why got "common bug" or something and looks a bit to skinny. Or maybe he is too serious with his diet and got anorexia ?? Hope he is fine.
This response is for the benefit of the readers. If you want to see how a real journalist handles issues like this one, read the post by Jim Goldman at CNBC: http://www.cnbc.com/id/25096807 Do yourself a favor and stop listening to puppets like the ones in this video.
Wish him the best! Unfortunately his health is an issue, as the success of Apple stock has been so conspicuously tied to his inputs and company leadership. While Medical privacy issues must be respected, it sure would be reassuring to know the results of his latest CT/Pet Scans. His appearance together with a past diagnosis of pancreatic malignancy (reported in the Press) are of legitimate concern to owners of the stock , unfortunate as it may seem.
you know the american people like to talk ........they yak yak.yak .......dont know when to keep thier comments to themself ....they talk rumors lies deciet just to talk so some one can hear them just like those 2 dummys in the steve jobs appearance report......GOSSIP AND USELESS CHATTER.......
To say that Steve "is the whole company" is vastly oversimplifying and overstating the case. Iconic? Sure he is, but beyond his personal brilliance of vision and charisma, he has also built a very strong corporation with gifted creative and marketing infrastructure. It seems a big stretch of the imagination to think that Steve has not given real attention to the future continuity of AAPL. This man is just not that shortsighted. May he and AAPL flourish for years to come.
Steve Jobs is a true national treasure. I wish him an excellent health. I hope he can pump more and more of Jobs Jr.
I just compared Steve's appearance from yesterday to the March 6th video and he looks exactly the same. Blodget is a pimp for the shorts these days just like he was pimping AMZN back in 2000.
I was very disturbed after I read the medical report right after his pancreatic operation. The prognosis was that the problem of an encapsulated tumor could return. While it is rarely cancerous, it does have to be removed, and it would cause him to appear as he does now. He had good doctors before, and if needed, I am sure they are still there for him. I also had a pancreatic tumor removed three years ago. It is not a death sentence.
for heck's sake, if he was ill he wouldn't be doing 90 minute pitches to the masses. give him a break, maybe he is a getting older a lot faster than he would like, and maybe he should slow down, take some time out. on the other hand though, when he announces his retirement or whatever there will be a stock drop, as sad as that fact is what we need is signs of a successor, in the role of visionary salesman, which is what steve is essentially it has to be in the masterplan, it has to be
THAT PHOTO IS FROM 2002 compared to 2008! 6 YEARS! That's not fair. Show us a photo from last year, not 6 years ago!!!
These are Top 2 morons on Wall Street today -- not sure how they made it to Tech Ticker. They are just full of themselves. No substance in their analysis.
