Craigslist Founder Talks Biz: Recession, eBay, Community

Posted Mar 18, 2008 01:33pm EDT by Sarah Lacy in Internet, Newsmakers

Given his site's concentration of ads for jobs and real estate, I asked Craig Newmark the extent to which he's seeing trouble in the economy. The Craigslist founder also clarifies urban legends about eBay's 25% stake, and offers his views on making money off of community.

I think this was a phony interview. She doesn't appear to be in the same room. Laughing to portray craigslist as a joke and not to be taken seriously. This is marketing psychology. The news media uses this technique to brainwash the viewers into what they want you to laugh at and take serious.

Hey Craig, Do you use paper to record your thoughts? Do you go to restaurants to eat? Do you go to the movies to watch movies? Oh, you do? How fascinating and intriging, tell me and the rest of the audience more!

Note the camera angles on both subjects, the timing of question/answer and the voice echo differences to see how fake this was. Almost nearly as bad as the Donald Trump voice overs in the Apprentice. Are things so bad at yahoo that you send an intern or an ugly person out for the interview and then edit in some eye candy back at the office.
