Blodget Defends Cramer, Monkeys Fly

Posted Mar 18, 2008 05:45pm EDT by Aaron Task in Investing, Newsmakers

Jim Cramer is under attack again. The reason? He made some positive comments about Bear Stearns last week on CNBC. Cramer says those comments were taken out of context.

The most surprising development of all: Frequent Cramer critic Henry Blodget is defending the man from "Mad Money."

Meanwhile, I'll note my former boss was right about the Fed during his infamous rant last summer.

Does anyone see the irony or oddity of Henry Blodget defending Jim Cramer? haha

Cramer is just a comedian, with a big and filthy mouth!!! If you listen to him, you are just a fool.

If Cramer's so great, why can't he get a sponsor and be on one of the main TV channels? JD

That Henry Blodget has been resurrected is almost as funny as most of Cramer's antics. Until this piece, I used to think Aaron Task was OK, now I'm not sure. The very fact that hes there sitting next to Blodget is suspect. Plus, with Aaron suggeting that Cramer was right about the Fed, a la the "they know nothing" rant is bemusing. Let me get this right, the Fed, with their resources and access to information, knows nothing? How can Jim Cramer be taken seriously. I bust his chops every chance I get. What he refers to as hate mail. I don't hate the man. I don't respect the outlandish positions he takes.

When he was a broker, we always considered him kind of "green" or "wet behind the ears". He was just another phone jockey until the show. I'll give him credit for making it a big show, and for realizing he didn't have what it took to make it on Wall Street, and getting out.

The whole cast of CNBC makes the world of investing sound like they are broadcasting a "hockey game", exciting when the home team is leading (market going up) and devestating when they are behind.

I love to watch Jim Cramer I never follow his advice. Neither should anyone else. It's like watching Howard Stern for relationship advice.

here's the thing, yes he is an idiot for not eating humble pie on camera. but, and i'm sorry to say this, it can't be all his fault...this is a classic example of why you NEVER LET ANYONE TELL YOU WHAT TO DO OR WHAT TO BUY blindly. do your own research, let others confirm or disconfirm, but you have to make your own decision. would you let someone pick your house? your car? then why your stocks????? cramer is a buffoon, but you never follow blindly. he is human afterall.

Kramer is nothing more than Howard Stern. It's a television show people. I don't think anyone would like to see him as the Chairman of the Fed or the CEO of Goldman. He screwed up on Bear Stearns early last week when he said your money is safe and I thought he was referring to BSC stock. On Friday he said he was referring to placing funds within a BSC account.

Shortly after the first leg down Cramer was pounding the table on all the banks, specifically Citi (c), when at about 24 per share he said buy because he saw it as a 40.00 stock soon. Not two weeks later he said sell all of the banks. Well, today it is at 20.00 after the market jumped 417 points. What gives Jim? Guess they are all a buy now that the Feds are basically insuring all the banks. Duh!

The real question is why is Henry Blodget commenting on anything financial after what he did to people & their money. Thats like asking OJ Simpson to babysit your kids.

Blodget couldn't defend his grandmother in a Target parking lot surrounded by Miss Piggy's dog Foo-Foo. That Cramer has for the past three years been trying to "crack" a Ladies "cat O' nine" whip....not a "snake or bull"....what "man" would want to defend that...case closed.

I wonder if Cramer was Client # 10? What's one more person screwed? He should bring McGrievey on his show now.
