Does Michael Moore Really Think Capitalism Is Evil?

Posted Sep 23, 2009 08:31am EDT by Aaron Task in Newsmakers
Michael Moore is no stranger to controversy, having taken on a sitting President, America's gun culture, and health care in prior films.

Moore's latest film, "Capitalism: A Love Story," takes dead aim at Wall Street and the corrupting influence money is having on American democracy -- and that's a bipartisan critique.

I caught up with Moore at the New York premiere of the film, and asked whether he really believes "capitalism is evil," as the film declares.

We also talked about the current consensus that the recession is over and the crisis has ended, which Moore calls an "illusion," and what Washington D.C. can and should do to revive the economy.

Moore is joined in the accompanying clip by Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-Ohio), who is also featured in the film.
