Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula Breaking News: Yemen in the Middle of Fight Against Terror ? Again

Wochit 0:59 mins

Yemen was thrust back into the forefront of the international fight against terrorism when the U.S. and Britain evacuated embassy staff due to a threatened attack, a suspected U.S. drone killed four alleged members of al-Qaida, and militants shot down a Yemeni army helicopter. The U.S. military evacuated non-essential U.S. government personnel from Yemen due to the high risk of attack by al-Qaida that has triggered temporary shutdowns of 19 American diplomatic posts across the Middle East and Africa. Security forces closed roads, put up extra blast walls and increased patrols near some of the more than 20 U.S. diplomatic missions in the Muslim world that Washington had ordered closed for the weekend following warnings of a possible al-Qaida attack.
