Amazon slashes Kindle Fire HD price as next-gen launch nears

by Wochit 0:57 mins

Amazon is preparing to launch brand new Kindle Fire HD tablets. The second-generation models will feature an all-new exterior design, as well as a complete internal overhaul with cutting-edge specs that outclass every comparable tablet on the market today. Amazon has slashed the base price of the current-generation Kindle Fire to just $159. Google may have already chosen Asus to create its next-generation Nexus 10 tablet. Citing "multiple sources," Geek.com said that Google held the usual bidding war to see which manufacturer would win the contract to develop the new 10-inch tablet. Samsung created last year's Nexus 10 tablet, while Asus has been behind the Nexus 7, both the 2012 and 2013 editions.
