The shutdown clock keeps climbing while the number of days before a potential default dwindle. With no indication of a resolution, there's more rhetoric from both sides. But there may also be emerging signs of a possible truce. (Oct. 9)
bigboo's bro: The Wolff-Mann strikes again. The vast majority of the people who cite these excuses for not working are capable of working in some capacity. A good responsible path to helping the Social Security and Medicare programs would be a thorough revamping of the disability system. Their Medicaid benefits are not free. Other entitlements they receive are not free. The greatest mistake of the so-called Great Society programs is allowing people to think and act like these things are free.
