AMN Healthcare CEO: Demand Not Diminishing for Doctors, Nurses

AMN Healthcare Services shares and results have bounced back in the past quarter because hospital managers have become more confident about their staffing needs, said AMN's CEO Susan Salka. Salka said the initiation of Obamacare kept many hospitals from adding staff in early 2014, yet they have since increased their rolls, as well as their margins, due to more insured patients. She said AMN also increased its profits due to better billing rates from hospitals. Finally, Salka said there remains a doctor and nurse shortage in the country which bodes well for AMN going forward as aging Baby Boomers require increased medical assistance.
