Apple Edges Higher on New Product Line-up, Markets Close Flat

Major U.S. markets closed Wednesday's trading flat in record terrain on light volume. Michaels (MIK) and Express (EXPR) stocks jumped on good earnings reports. Best Buy (BBY) was the S&P 500's biggest percentage gainer as the electronic retailer recouped from Tuesday's losses. UnitedHealth (UNH) helped the Dow Jones Industrial up as the blue-chips' best performer. Deals news pushed Elizabeth Arden (RDEN) up in the session. The beauty products maker said it would review a tender offer from Rhone Capital. Apple (AAPL) edged higher on reports of new products coming down the pipeline. On Thursday, we'll get earnings results from Dollar General (DG), Abercrombie and Fitch (ANF) and Pacific Sunwear (PSUN).
