Apple News Byte: Obama Administration Vetoes Ban On Certain IPhones And IPads

by Wochit 0:57 mins

President Obama's administration has vetoed a decision by the United States International Trade Commission to ban the import of a number of Apple products, including models of the iPhone 4 and iPad 2. The ITC announced the ban after finding that those devices had violated a patent held by Samsung. Apple Inc is headed for a showdown with the U.S. government and dozens of states, which on Friday urged that tough new restrictions be imposed on the company for illegally conspiring to raise e-book prices. After winning its antitrust lawsuit over Apple's e-book pricing, the Justice Department said it wants to prevent Apple from engaging in anticompetitive conduct across the content sold in its iTunes store, including movies, music and television shows.
