The Bank of Japan is expected to keep monetary policy on hold, as its unprecedented easing and government stimulus gradually spread through the economy. The Financial Times reported Lloyds Banking Group Chief Executive Antonio Horta-Osorio told potential investors that he expects to see up to 70 percent of the bank's earnings returned to shareholders by 2015. Shareholders have not received a dividend from Lloyds since its ill-fated rescue of rival HBOS in 2008, when it was bailed out by Britain and ordered to halt payouts. HSBC bank has told dozens of foreign missions in London that will close their bank accounts, news that has sent diplomats across the capital scrambling to find a new place to put their money.
