Boeing 787 Breaking News: Japan to Let Carriers Remove 787 Emergency Beacons

by Wochit 0:50 mins

Aviation regulators will allow Boeing 787 Dreamliners to operate in Japan without locator beacons which have been identified by British investigators as a likely source of a fire on board one of the aircraft in London. Emergency beacons made by Honeywell International Inc can be simply removed from the Boeing 787 in about an hour, Boeing Co said. UK authorities investigating a 787 fire in London, recommended de-activating the devices. British authorities said they had found signs of disruption in the battery cells of an emergency transmitter on a Boeing 787 that caught fire last week.
